Area Sales Manager – UK – Instrumentation

Area Sales Manager required to join a well-established manufacturer and supplier of instrumentation products, covering a product range which includes pressure gauges, flow transmitters and water isolation valves and selling into the oil & gas, marine, nuclear and waste-water industries.

As the successful Sales Manager you will cover the whole of the UK and will report in to the Head of Sales & Marketing. This role is broad and entails pre-qualification of the Company and its products in agreed markets and/or projects, obtaining requests for quotation for the product and following through to successful order placement.

All successful applicants must have sold or have a technical knowledge of instrumentation products, and must have held one of the following job titles; Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, Technical Sales Specialist, Business Development Manager (BDM) or Area Sales Specialist.

The Package:

Salary – 45,000- 50,000 (DOE)

The Role:

• Supply of market intelligence about projects in or for the UK

• Identify new potential customers and markets.

• Develop relationships with end clients so that our products are vendor listed and included in upcoming projects.

• Develop relationships with the key Project Companies to follow their business globally

• Continue the campaign to work with the OEM’s making packages

• Co-ordinate the preparation of technical pre-qualification information for potential customers in all markets

• Interpret customer data to identify the optimal solution and ‘winning proposition’ for their needs

• Possess an understanding of process (Oil, Gas, Power) applications and knowledge of how switches, transmitters, temperature sensors and gauges are used and specified to win business.

• Be characterised by-self belief, drive, ambition and hunger to deliver maximum sales from the region.

Requirements:

• Must have a strong instrumentation background (minimum 5 years)

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a sales role.

• Ability to travel within UK and overseas if required.
