As the Director of Engineering in our Digital Evidence Management division, you will be leading teams to drive one of our most important strategic goals: expanding Axon Evidence to our international markets. You will join forces with product and design on designing and building features that solves important customer problems across every public safety agency in the world. You are a strategic thinker, and will drive the technical vision for your teams. You have a high bar for standards of excellence, and will ensure your teams make the right architectural decisions and deliver code that is bulletproof and highly performant. You will be empowered to build high-performing engineering teams that are customer-obsessed and encompass a strong engineering culture. You will coach the managers under you, grooming the next set of engineering leaders for Axon. If you are successful, you will be on the path to building a differentiating product that will disrupt our industry.

What You’ll Do

Location: UK

• Driving the execution of your teams by supporting your managers in planning, prioritization, stand-ups, and team retro meetings
• Leading the technical direction of the team through architectural discussions and code reviews
• Working with product managers and product designers to expand Axon Evidence’s reach to every public safety agency in the world
• Join forces with recruiting to hire a top-notch engineering team
• Coaching and growing managers and senior engineers with weekly 1:1s

What You Bring

• 10+ years professional software development experience
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• 2+ years of experience coaching other engineering managers and leading multiple engineering teams
• Experience designing and delivering high-availability, scalable cloud-based systems
• Deep experience in multiple, managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, C#, or similar
• Experience working with multiple SQL or NoSQL datastores
• Proven ability for coaching and mentoring
• You love delighting end users and hunger for novel challenges
