Group Technical Manager role based in Knowsley. Leadership role, working for a growing manufacturing company across multiple sites in the North West
Client Details
Our client is a growing manufacturing company based in Knowsley, with sites across North West.
Description
Deliver new product innovations to meet future legislation requirements and drive innovation within the design department.
Identify & partner with key suppliers to identify new alternative materials & technologies for our existing & new products
Become the “In-House” expert on materials
Working with commercial create business partnerships with key customers architects, engineering departments etc.
Responsible for creation & maintenance of BOM’s, routes & loading data into ERP system
Creation & management of an NPI process, end to end.
Leading Product design, specification and design maintenance activity across multiple sites
Project management of multiple small to medium projects Provision of engineering support for specific applications enquiries. Create and manage the annual yearly budget for the technical office.
Assist in continuous improvement throughout the company.
Estimate project and task hours and manage work through the company processes.
Provide technical and engineering support to the team.
Ensure the Engineering team are working in conjunction with ISO9001 QMS.
Performance Management of the team to meet project targets, KPIs and ensure their own personal development.
All subcontract work to be managed including but not limited to products/components manufactured and suppliers/subcontractors to be carefully monitored.
Management of the design & drafting team
Profile
You must have a technical design / engineering background in steel, glass reinforced plastics or resins manufacturing
Customer facing experience gained in a manufacturing industry.
Customer focused with good commercial awareness.
SolidWorks 3D and 2D experience.
Experience of design release and management in an ERP system working to ISO9001 standards.
Design for manufacture experience.
Project planning & project management experience.
Mechanical or materials Engineering degree. Preferably to MEng level or equivalent. Chemical engineering also considered

Ability to work well as part of a team and be a flexible team player, as well as being selfmotivated and eager to learn.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and be able to multitask & prioritise based on the needs of the business.
Computer literate
Excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
Job Offer
65,000 to 70,000 plus bonus, car / car allowance and benefits
