Description Your new role In your new role as a Head of Product at Demica you will be responsible for our design direction, quality of the product design execution and developing the design team and ways of working. You’ll be leading a small team of cross-disciplined product managers and will be supported by a team of Architects, Business Analysts and representative of users for E2E ownership of product features delivered.
What you’ll do There are three core areas of focus in your new role: Execute Product Strategy

• Collaborate with Business Stakeholders and Engineering partners to influence the product roadmap, identify opportunities, and make decisions balancing cost and benefit of each proposed development
• Provide expert guidance, set best practice on design approach suitable for Demica’s solutions
• Working closely with Product Discovery to understand the needs and priorities of customers and users, how Demica solutions are used and to make clear communications regarding solutions being designed and delivered

Experience-led Product Design

• Review and improve Design working processes for the Product Design team.
• Be a thought leader on experience-led product design. Working to strengthen UX standards and practices.
• Focus teams to continually think about the customers and users we serve, their goals and jobs to be done for the successful design, development and delivery of product experiences
• Own product design documentation from initial requirement write-up to user stories even though the Design team may not “hold the pen” for every document.
• Actively solicit feedback from cross-functional teams to build better, features, work processes and cultivate your partnerships.
• Working closely with the Engineering team to gain a solid understanding of the architecture of Demica’s solutions; design based this understanding of the solutions as you find it.
• Take E2E ownership of product delivered by owning User Acceptance Testing of features developed, passionately work with Technology teams to get developed features used by users as quickly as possible and actively solicit user feedback.

Leadership

• Empower and manage a team of Product Managers, pushing them to be at their best
• Collaborate closely with your peers in Product, Commercial, Operations, Technology, and other functions to drive alignment of visions, goals, and a culture of continuous improvement in the product and processes relevant to how the product is implemented and used.

Who you are

• 8+ years experience designing products a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
• Proven experience in a ‘hands-on’ product design leadership role with the responsibility of executing at every stage of the design lifecycle from research to ideation to delivery and with design systems
• Ability to define user journeys and surfacing the underlying needs and motivation of our users to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value
• Understanding of key business metrics and data, as well as how it connects to design supported by excellent practical arithmetic and numeric reasoning skills
• Leading projects of all sizes and varying complexities autonomously, setting the direction for the UX and planning and leading collaborative workshops with stakeholders and end-users
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills that enable you to ask meaningful questions, analyse the data, and scope design opportunities.
• Strong ability to translate business language to suit the technical teams and technical language to suit business teams

Good to have skills

• Experience in designing and delivering a SaaS platform that supports transactional, processing or reporting processes;
• Experience in financial services, especially trade finance or working capital finance related areas
• Previous UX design experience
