Network LAN Engineer – Ireland – 12 month contract – Hybrid

The Network LAN Analyst will serve as the primary contact for all network-related incidents within the EAME region, covering LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments. This individual will handle the initial triage and resolution of incidents, escalate issues as needed, and ensure that incidents are managed efficiently according to SLA/MTTR targets.
My Client is looking for someone who is a team player. They will be working within a small team so must be a part of the team mindset. The current team is very close knit which enables them to get through the workload through asking questions, sharing ideas and making suggestions. This person must also be able to work from own initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Incident Management:
   • Act as the first point of contact for all network-related incidents (LAN/WLAN/WAN).
   • Perform initial triage and information gathering for each incident.
   • Resolve incidents where possible or escalate them to more specialised analysts.
   • Manage the incident and task queue for EAME network services, ensuring incidents are correctly assigned and resolved within agreed SLA/MTTR targets.
   • Conduct weekly ITSM incident meetings with the EAME network team to discuss and troubleshoot challenging tickets/tasks.
2. Task Fulfilment:
   • Respond to and manage small RITM-based requests such as IP scope expansions, FSZ (Firewall Security Zone) requests, and switch stack expansions.
   • Work closely with local business unit contacts to fulfil these requests in a timely manner.
3. LAN Design and Implementation:
   • Provide LAN designs for small demand-based projects, such as End-of-Life (EOL) equipment replacements.
   • Ensure designs align with company standards and are implemented effectively.

Required Skills and Experience:

• • • Must have Cisco experience – working with Cisco network. CCNA and/or CCNP qualifications, anything higher would be desirable. Alternatively, experience working with Cisco Switches.
    • Computer Systems will be Windows. Must be familiar with terminal emulation
  • Network industry experience, minimum 4+ years
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies.
  • Experience with network incident management and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to design and implement LAN solutions for small projects.
• Problem-Solving:
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve network issues.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
• Hybrid Working model, 3 days per week minimum in the office.
• 12 month FTC – Asap Start
• Rates: PAYE 32.46/Umbrella 43.61

This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong technical background in network management and a proven ability to manage incidents effectively within a large, multi-region organisation.
