Platform Engineer Contract Harmondsworth

Initial 4 months – will be extended

Location: Harmondsworth – hybrid

IR35 Status: Inside

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the build of the strategic Operations Data Platform, working closely with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Principal Solution Architect as well as the Tech Leads to implement the high-level design.
• Suggest and implement solutions to allow the development team (developers and testers) to accelerate the build of the platform.
• Providing advice on how to resolve technical problems as they arise, and mitigation strategies so that they do not occur again.
• Documenting and maintain architectural standards.
• Mentor and train junior members of the development team.

Key Skills:

• Strong Hands-on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, Glue, VPC, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, ECS, KMS, MSK, RDS, IAM, AWS Transfer family), KAFKA, IBM MQ (Added advantage)
• Hands on knowledge on the Data Dog tool /agent configuration with the platform/applications.
• Proficiency in automating delivery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform and GitHub for version control.
• Strong hands-on development experience with scripting languages as Python or Bash
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline. Build, Maintain and Automate the pipeline for platform/applications.
• Building/maintaining deployment tools, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in different environments.
• Ensuring robust deployment/release processes so applications are packaged and deployed effectively.
• Exposure towards Infrastructure Management and Data Migration
• AWS Identity & Access Management
• Expert Container/Orchestration experience with Kubernetes
