The Health and Social Care team are responsible for HM Treasury’s oversight of over £170 billion of annual government spending in health and social care – accounting for more than a quarter of public spending! About the Job

In this role, you will:

• Lead on analytical projects across the team, providing support on analytical questions to underpin NHS spending. You’ll explore health data, evidence, and trends to produce detailed analysis, as well as writing advice and briefing to ministers
• Support HM Treasury’s involvement in delivery of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, leading on distinct aspects and working with other departments collaboratively
• Lead on and advise ministers on NHS technology policy and business cases, including on how they contribute to the Treasury’s broader objectives and deliver value for money for taxpayers
• Build networks and relationships across the Treasury and beyond to understand the latest health and economic trends and ensure they are reflected in our work and advice to ministers

This is an important role at the heart of the team and is a great opportunity to work on interesting health topics that will shape and influence future NHS funding and policy.

About You

We’re looking for people with strong analytical skills and the ability to bring together a wide range of evidence to inform decision-making. You’ll need to be confident in communicating technical analysis to non-specialists, and able to build and maintain relationships with others.
