The press and public affairs manager will:

• Plan and place news stories and comment pieces in the media
• Manage relationships with journalists
• Use a strong understanding of the sector to work with our partners and develop Oak’s role within the education and curriculum landscape
• Support important stakeholders across the education, public, political and commercial sectors
• Write speeches, presentations, briefings and policy papers to communicate Oak’s role and impact
• Continuously improve Oak’s external monitoring, stakeholder engagement and media work
• Deputise for the Head of External Relations as required
• Work in a lean, fast-paced team, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation

The role is full-time (36 hours) and we work a 4.5 day week or 9 day fortnight (alternate Fridays or half Fridays off). This is a predominantly remote role with occasional in-person events and activities.
