Vice President, Longevity Full Time

You will be a key part of the GFS Longevity Product team, whose function is to drive the expansion of the longevity product. The Longevity team provides analytical expertise for the global development and data-driven solution in longevity product and pricing.

In this role you will develop and implement initiatives in advancing our capabilities in longevity tools and processes, longevity data warehousing in order to support longevity research, basis, predictive analytics, pricing and insights.

This is a global role covering all longevity regions and is expected to work closely with a range of key stakeholders across our various longevity markets.

Responsibilities

Longevity Basis and Research

• To shape and direct GFS’ needs in longevity bases and research, ensuring GFS’ bases are aligned with the Longevity regional and global Product strategies;
• Lead and manage the derivation of GFS’ longevity bases across all geographies;
• Be the central point of contact for GFS’ efforts in longevity bases, working closely with a range of internal stakeholders (GFS Pricing, BD, local research teams, data scientists and global research team);
• Supply the GFS Senior Leadership, and regional head of pricing and regional of BD with valuable knowledge and insights on longevity research and basis across all geographies;
• To investigate and lead the development of longevity bases in new and emerging longevity markets, in order to support BD and new business initiatives and longevity expansion;
• To lead the exploration and discovery of insights into research (demographic, medical, socio-economics) to sharpen longevity assumptions;
• To recommend and guide the approval of longevity bases within GFS;

Longevity Analytics

• Drive GFS’ efforts in longevity analytics and data science techniques to develop insights through advanced statistical methods;
• Identify and support in the acquisition of data to develop insights into longevity risk segmentation. Make recommendation on the acquisition of data to the Head of Longevity Product;
• Leverage advanced analytics techniques and advanced programming languages for developing longevity tools and systems;

Longevity Product Function

• Manage a team of longevity actuaries;
• Develop thought leadership materials and publish and present to external audiences;
• Support the 4 pillars of the Longevity Product team: Basis and Research, Tools & Technology, Longevity Data and Predictive Analytics;
• Assist in special projects, research and development, thought leadership as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Finance, Computer Science or related field
• Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries, or equivalent actuarial qualification
• Strong experience in longevity, and/or annuity products
• Knowledge of statistical modelling (GLM, GAM, Decision Trees etc.)
• Knowlege in programming language, either in R or Python
• Experience in actuarial modelling software such as Prophet, MoSes, and/or AXIS
