You will be leading a high performing, global digital marketing operations team located in various Elsevier locations around the world. With a collaborative and innovative culture, the team work together to drive success.

About the Role

As the VP of Digital Marketing for Research Marketing, you will develop and execute the digital marketing strategy. You’ll oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology platforms and tools. Additionally, you’ll track and analyze digital marketing performance using data analytics to make optimization recommendations. Finally, you’ll lead SEO/SEM initiatives to enhance organic visibility and drive targeted traffic.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for Research Marketing (RM), aligned with business objectives and target audience. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives.
• Overseeing marketing operations, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of digital marketing campaigns and initiatives. Streamlining processes, workflows, and communication channels to optimize marketing operations.
• Overseeing the selection, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology platforms and tools to support digital marketing operations. Ensuring the integration and alignment of systems for seamless data flow and campaign execution.
• Leading marketing data management efforts, ensuring data accuracy, cleanliness, and completeness. Utilizing data analytics to track and analyze digital marketing performance, identifying trends, and measuring the effectiveness of campaigns. Providing insights and data-driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.
• Leading SEO and SEM initiatives to improve organic visibility and drive targeted traffic to digital properties. Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and algorithm changes to ensure optimal performance.
• Building and leading a high-performing global digital marketing operations team located in various Elsevier locations around the world. Providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders including marketing, product, sales, and technology teams to align digital marketing strategies with overall business goals. Driving collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Managing the digital marketing operations budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to drive maximum ROI. Monitoring and reporting on budget performance and making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
• Conducting in-depth analysis of marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. Utilizing data visualization and reporting tools to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Providing actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure data privacy, compliance, and security. Establishing data quality standards and monitor adherence to data management best practices.
• Staying informed about the latest digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Sharing knowledge and insights with the team and applying innovative strategies to enhance digital marketing performance.

Requirements

• Have extensive marketing experience, with a focus on digital marketing.
• Have proven experience in developing and implementing successful digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems is highly desirable.
• Have a good understanding of marketing operations and the ability to optimize processes and workflows. Experience in project management and marketing campaign execution.
• Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to track, measure, and analyse digital marketing performance. Proficiency in using data analytics tools and platforms to derive actionable insights and make data-driven recommendations.
• Be experienced in marketing data management, data governance, and analysis. Familiarity with data management tools and platforms.
• Demonstrate leadership capabilities with experience in building and managing high-performing teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Be able to think strategically and align digital marketing initiatives with business objectives. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and customer engagement through digital channels.
