About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic consultancy team in London. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for delivering high-performance solutions in the data centre sector. You will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for complex, large-scale data centre projects across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning support as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team.
• Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide expert guidance.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3 years in data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, and earthing systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, and Dialux.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
