Job title: Data Integration Engineer

Location: London / Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)

Rate: 700 PWD via umbrella (top end of the range)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Engineer to join our client’s team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in designing and delivering robust data integration solutions that support business intelligence, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment within the banking sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using ETL tools and methodologies.
• Manage and optimize SQL Server and Oracle databases to ensure high performance and availability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver effective integration strategies.
• Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and regulatory standards (banking focus).
• Build and maintain data marts, focusing on data modeling and transformation.
• Support regulatory reporting systems and assist with AQR reporting for the ECB.
• Leverage cloud storage solutions and middleware technologies to improve data processing.
• Troubleshoot complex data issues, identify root causes, and deliver effective solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise in data integration, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle.
• Proficiency in ETL tools (SSIS, DataStage, Alteryx) and data modeling.
• Demonstrated experience with regulatory reporting systems in the banking sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
• Excellent time management and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to Azure, Databricks, and middleware (IIB, Kafka, MQ).
• Experience in creating and managing data marts.
• Familiarity with modern data integration platforms.
