Job Title: AWS Developer
Location: London (2-3 days on site per week)
Contract Duration: Until 30/06/2026
Day Rate: £340 per day (Inside IR35)
Role Details
We are seeking a talented and driven AWS Developer to join our Digital Platform Team, working on the continued evolution of our digital trading roadmap and supporting existing cloud-based solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious software engineer eager to work with modern serverless technologies and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, scalable and secure digital services, working closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and wider technical team to support both development and run activities.
Key Responsibilities
. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and team members in an agile environment
. Write clean, well-structured code aligned to engineering best practice
. Own, scope and deliver clearly defined work items, reporting progress in agile ceremonies
. Develop, support and maintain production-grade cloud services, ensuring performance, security and stability
. Utilise observability tooling to monitor live environments and remediate issues
. Implement automated testing and contribute to CI/CD pipeline excellence
. Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to coding standards and engineering quality
. Produce and maintain technical documentation
. Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and technical partners
. Demonstrate continuous learning and promote engineering excellence and best practice
Required Skills & Experience
. Strong experience building API solutions, including API management (eg Apigee), versioning and developer onboarding
. Proven experience developing AWS serverless applications, including Lambdas and Step Functions
. Hands-on experience in Typescript
. Knowledge of event-driven integration patterns
. Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS
. Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling (eg Jenkins, Bamboo, Git)
. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL data models
. Good understanding of security standards and secure coding practices
. Experience with automated testing and modern software engineering standards
. Proven experience working in agile (Scrum/Kanban) delivery environments
. Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Skills
. Integration design and delivery experience
. Experience with Infrastructure as Code – AWS CDK preferred (Terraform beneficial)
. Experience supporting and monitoring production systems (eg Splunk, Datadog, AWS observability tooling)
