What you’ll be doing
s International Relations and Business Manager, you’ll help develop the IET’s international presence by combining commercial insight, strategic thinking and strong relationship management.
Working with Country Heads, international teams and UK colleagues, you’ll shape market strategies, monitor performance and identify opportunities to grow products, services and partnerships. You’ll analyse market trends, assess new opportunities and share successful approaches across regions.
You’ll provide oversight of international commercial and financial performance, supporting business planning, forecasting, budgeting and growth initiatives. Country Heads will retain ownership of local P&Ls, while you’ll use performance data and market insight to help inform decision making and identify opportunities.
A key part of the role is building and maintaining relationships with governments, academia, Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs), industry bodies and other strategic stakeholders. You’ll create opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and mutual benefit while helping the IET remain connected and influential in key international markets.
You’ll also help ensure effective governance, processes and operational structures across international activities, balancing commercial opportunity with organisational reputation and stakeholder requirements.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We’re looking for someone with experience working across multiple countries or regions who understands how cultural, economic and political factors influence international business and growth.
You’ll bring:
Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones.
Experience within engineering, technology or a professional membership organisation would be advantageous.
Please note, this role will be known internally an International Business Manager.
