We are looking for an experienced Murex Business Analyst – Commodities to join our front-to-back trading technology team, with a strong focus on valuation configuration, product setup, and P&L validation.
This is not a pure quantitative modelling role – the emphasis is on system configuration, functional validation, and analytical replication rather than developing pricing models from scratch.
The ideal consultant will combine hands-on Murex expertise, strong financial product knowledge (especially commodities), and the ability to replicate and validate calculations using Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Configure Murex valuation settings in line with market conventions and business requirements
Define and maintain product characteristics based on term sheets and traded market instruments
Configure and validate sensitivity viewers and risk outputs
Replicate P&L, sensitivities, and PLVA calculations in Excel to validate Murex results
Support and enhance the valuation and risk setup for Commodity products within Murex
Work closely with Front Office, Risk, and Finance stakeholders to interpret term sheets and market requirements
Participate in testing, validation, and issue resolution related to valuation and P&L discrepancies
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands-on Murex experience, including:
Valuation settings configuration
Product setup and characteristics definition
Sensitivities configuration and analysis
P&L and PLVA replication
Proven experience replicating Murex calculations in Excel
Strong understanding of financial products, with prior experience in Commodities valuation/configuration
Solid analytical skills with attention to detail
Postgraduate degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Products, or a related field
Exposure to cross-asset Murex environments
Experience working in Front Office or Risk-facing roles
Strong problem-solving mindset
Proactive and able to work independently
Effective team player with strong stakeholder communication skills
